Make Money

May 23rd, 2008

Many people wish to work out of the comfort of their own home but simply do not have the time or the means to investigate such a concept.

Starting a business is one of the toughest and often times one of the most rewarding feeling of one’s life, and it is my personal opinion that everyone in life is at least curious but not always ready to act on such an idea or dream as most people would look at it.

The first step to really even thinking about generating wealth working from home and the easiest one is to think about what would make you happy working on, but would also yield you profit.

After you are quite sure with yourself and are ready to act upon this the best way to go about it working from home is creating your own website. With your own website you want to project to people your product or service and how it will benefit them. Simply, this can be described by reading through your website as if you were a first time customer and asking yourself questions about this product or service and seeing if your site indeed answers these questions many people may have. It is 100% important and the most crucial thing to do this and provide the benefits the person may have while using your product or service and making sure it is outlined in a simple but yet appealing manner.

Many benefits will be found owning your own business and generating wealth from it. On the internet, it is my opinion that owning your own business is much easier than owning a physical business with employees and paying for rental space of a building. By opening up an internet business you take much less of a risk than you would by opening up a physical one.

You can also generate money for all hours of the day with an internet business much easier than having to tend to a physical business for most of the day.

Another benefit of working from home with your own business is the fact that it is much easier to communicate with people internationally as well, if your sending a message or providing information or services. This can be easily shown through the use of search engines and directories that will include your site in them eventually and will bring you quality, targeted traffic. This will widely increase your sales, as your customer base continues to grow.

The importance of obtaining a Paralegal degree

May 23rd, 2008

Many people are unsure if a paralegal degree is right for them, simply because they don’t know it’s actual value in today’s job market.
Having a Bachelor’s degree as a paralegal, a student working for the federal government or in a big city can hope to get an income of nearly sixty thousand dollars annually. This amount is well above average and is more than half the income of a typical American.
The biggest employers of paralegals are the private law companies. But paralegals are beginning to find work in banks, corporations, insurance companies and real estate firms too. This makes a lot of new job openings for those that follow this kind of career.
The paralegals specializing in product liability or bankruptcy have bright employment opportunities, as well. The market for paralegals will continue to grow, as large agencies and corporations assign paralegals. A paralegal career is stable in the sense that corporations and agencies will typically want their paralegals working in house. Meaning that they will not look overseas to fill these job roles.
The field of paralegals will continue to grow within the public and private sectors. Your future is well worth the investment; obtaining an online Bachelor’s degree as a paralegal an excellent way to achieve a successful career. As businesses start to utilize paralegals more over the next decade, this field of learning will be in high demand. It is also a career choice that will not be outsourced, or seriously affected during economic crisis.

Are You a Marketing Octopus, or a Marketing Worm?

May 23rd, 2008

One of the greatest challenges to effectively marketing a business is determining which marketing method is best for your business.

Most people look at what their competitors are doing to market their businesses and then simply imitate that, whether good or bad.

The best marketing strategy does not involve selecting only one or two marketing approaches that we see others using. The best marketing approach resembles an octopus.

An octopus is very effective at catching food with eight limbs. If the octopus loses one limb it may momentarily lose some of its strength and agility, but it adapts and continues on as an effective hunter and predator.

It’s the same with marketing your business. The more marketing approaches you use simultaneously the more successful you can become and the easier it is to continue growing your company.

You will continue to thrive despite the challenges facing others. No setback in any one marketing approach will ever devastate you or pose major problems.

Despite this, many companies use no more than two or three methods at most to bring in business.

Few realize that there are over 100 methods for bringing in new business, for increasing web traffic, for selling more to existing clients, and for increasing repeat sales that their competitors are not using.

They basically imitate worms in their marketing attempts. A worm’s approach to life is singular. It does not use multiple limbs because it has none. Its existence is slow and labor-intensive. Very unlike an octopus.

The great thing about this is that most competitors are making this same mistake. They may be too busy, too shorthanded, or too myopic to do much more than hand out boxes of business cards and sit around talking ‘fish stories’ of the one that got away.

That is a marketing approach to avoid.

Instead use as many marketing methods as make sense for your industry, your market, and your company. Then you will become a marketing octopus while your competitors remain marketing worms.

Where can you find a listing of more than one or two marketing methods?

Can You Wait Until Your Mud Settles?

May 22nd, 2008

Have you ever noticed how people become frantic when their routines are taken away?

It is commonplace to hear stories about retirees who go into a funk because they no longer have offices to occupy, people to see, appointments to keep, and decisions to make.

Kids, who have their iPod, TV, cell phone, and video game privileges suspended, find it hard to occupy their time with more than nail biting and moping.

What these suddenly freefalling spirits have in common is the inability to let their mud settle, as the Tao, the famous book of Chinese wisdom describes it. They fear silence, because something unexpected might sneak up on them.

And of course, this is natural, especially if we’re living an inauthentic life or one that is jam packed with superficialities. When reflexive routines stop, suddenly we’re confronted by nothing more than our inner voices.

Typically, these voices are dumb, if we’re not used to conversing with them. They recite trivialities, and cycle through the debris of our consciousness.

But when we’re graced with a suspension of the commonplace, this provides an opportunity to court our inner beings, as meditation practitioners know.

To be free of routine, beyond the reach of reinforcements, rewards and punishments, is incredibly refreshing.

We get a chance to ask interesting questions, such as “What am I?” and “What is meaningful?” and “How do I want to feel?” and “Where am I going in such a hurry?”

By living through the fear of silence, of stasis, of nothingness, we earn an opportunity to put fear aside, and this is a stunning achievement.

Knowing this is possible, at first momentarily, and then for longer periods, is empowering.

Our cars, 401k plans, business and social importance are significant only inasmuch as they have helped us to arrive at that special moment, when our mud settles, and at last, we can see through it and into ourselves and the infinite.

Exercise Bikes to Suit Every Budget

May 22nd, 2008

Exercise bikes are available in various types of models as well as costs to suit all budgets and needs of people. There are three types of exercise bikes and these are upright exercise bike, semi-recumbent exercise bike and recumbent exercise bike. Depending upon your need you can buy the one, which suits your needs. It’s a great cardio vascular workout and helps one to lose calories easily as well as tone up the figure. The recumbent stationary cycle is as popular as the treadmill to burn the calories and attain a good and fit body.

The recumbent exercise bikes help a person to reduce the blood pressure level. The person is seated very close to the floor. The feet of the person are near the chest level. Control panels display various readings and this helps a person on the recumbent exercise bike to see whether they are achieving the target that they had set for themselves. The control panel gives the readings for the pulse rate, heart rate, the number of calories burnt, the distance traveled etc. the biggest advantage is that one can exercise at any point of time on the recumbent exercise bike.

The bikes can be adjusted for the height. It’s easy to adjust the height of the seat as well as the resistance levels. There are also various programs which are designed for both the beginner as well as the for a more advanced workout. Its important that you seek the advice of a doctor and personal trainer before one can start exercising on a recumbent exercise bike, so you don’t put yourself at risk of a medical complication. Also ask people who are currently exercising on a recumbent exercise bike before you start working out on one too.

The whole gist of this article is ‘do your research well’. Follow that principle and you should have a satisfying buy experience.

If you enjoyed this article check out this list of recumbent exercise bikes related articles. And here you’ll find our most recently added recumbent exercise bikes article for your reading.

Medical Travel – Precautions You Need to Take

May 22nd, 2008

There are fewer regulations, regarding health in India, applicable to foreign tourists. These regulations are more of the nature of prevention than anything else.

* WHO website for International Travellers.

* WHO India

Yellow Fever

Any person (including infants) arriving by air or sea without a certificate can be detained in isolation for a period up to 6 days if arriving within six days of departing from an infected area or has been in such an area in transit, or has come by aircraft which has been in an infected area and has not been disinfected in accordance with Indian Aircraft (Public Health) Rules, or those recommended by WHO. Various countries in Central and South America and Africa are regarded as being infected, enquire at the concerned Indian Mission for an up to date list. When a case of yellow fever is reported from any country, that country is regarded by Government of India as infected with yellow fever and is added to the above list.

Malaria

Malaria risk exists throughout the year in the whole country excluding parts of the states of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Sikkim. No certificate is required, but a course of anti malaria pills is recommended for all travellers to India.

Protect yourself from insects by remaining in well-screened areas, using repellents (applied sparingly at 4 hour intervals), and wearing long sleeved shirts and long pants from dusk through dawn.

Cholera

Travelers proceeding to countries that impose restrictions for arrivals from India or from an infected area in India on account of cholera are required to possess a certificate. In any case, an inoculation against cholera is recommended.

General Tips

* Drink only bottled or boiled water, or carbonated (bubbly) drinks in cans or bottles. Avoid tap water, fountain drinks, and ice cubes. If this is not possible, make water safer by both filtering through an “absolute 1 micron or less” filter AND adding iodine tablets to the filtered water. “Absolute 1 micron filters” are found in camping/outdoor supply stores.

* Buy bottled water from respectable outlets to guard against stomach upsets. Some of the better known brands are Bisleri, Kinley, Aqua Fina, Himalaya etc. Make sure that the seal of the bottle is intact.

* Watch out for spicy dishes, especially at the outset of your tour. Avoid eating food from road side stalls. Eat unpeeled fruits and avoid fresh salads, especially in small hotels. If you are forced to eat food at some place that you have doubts about, make sure the food is served hot.

* Always use an insect repellent if you find yourself in a mosquito-prone area. But remember, not every place is mosquito-infested and low temperatures in winters (when most tourists come to India) kill most bugs in the northern plains and hills.

* If traveling in scorching heat, remember to drink enough water, use hats, sunglasses & UV lotions. Do not venture out in the mid day sun.

* Pharmacies or chemists are available in every little town and village and you can buy medication. In case you need to see a doctor for a specific condition, ask for help from your hotel (most have doctors on call) or your tour operator. The cost of visiting a doctor is fairly low(less than a dollar) compared to western countries.

Health Kit

In India, most modern medicines are available over the counters in drugstores, but it is wise to travel with a reserve stock. If any prescription drugs are required, bring enough for the duration of the trip. It is advisable that you carry a small health kit which should include remedy for upset stomachs, some antiseptic cream, mosquito repellant cream, suntan/uv lotion, etc.

Caution: This document is not a complete medical guide for travelers to this region. Consult with your doctor for specific information related to your needs and your medical history; recommendations may differ for pregnant women, young children, and persons who have chronic medical conditions.

Why Link Exchanges are Dead-and What the New Move in Free Traffic Is…

May 22nd, 2008

It’s no secret-link exchanges are dying a painful death. And why
you ask? Since March 2005 the new Google algorythm has become
very very picky about the quality, quantity and frequency of
incoming links to your website. It now considers reciprocal
linking to be, in fashion terms; OUT!

So what can you do to get legitimate incoming links to your
website to maintain your traffic? The new wave in link building
is content exchanges. It is fairly simple, just submit your
written articles to article directories and webmasters looking
for content.

You’ve probably heard of “writing articles” for free traffic
before, so why is it called the “new wave” in free traffic? Glad
you asked, let me elaborate. A couple of years ago an internet
marketing Guru named Jim Edwards wrote an ebook titled “Turn
Words in to Traffic”. In this ebook Jim explained how to write
and distribute articles as the ideal way to get free incoming
links to your website.

Many big (and little) name webmasters jumped on the band wagon
and started to implement Jim’s techniques and see the results.
But after a time, even though the concept and results reamined
the same, many webmasters abandoned writing and distributing
articles for two reasons.

First, some people just can’t or hate to write. And second, it
is very tedious and time consuming to go around to the 40+
article and ezine content banks and manually submit your
articles to each site each time you write an article.

So why the comeback? Many webmasters who previously didn’t want
to write articles have discovered either HOW to write articles,
or they’ve hired out their article writing at about $10.00 per
article to ghost writers at sites like elance.com. They
recognized the power of distributing articles and simply out
sourced it.

But the problem remains that it is still tedious to submit each
article to every article bank every time you write a new one.
This new move back to writing articles is fueled by the same
thing that webmasters are using to have their content written;
outsourcing. People simply pay someone else to do this tedious
work.

Companies like submityourarticle.com manually do the submitting
for you, though at a price (and it’s not cheap). But if the
traffic is coming in and you are capitolazing on that traffic
it’s an investment worth making.

However, for those out there who don’t want to pay a per article
fee, an associate of mine, Jason Potash has been working on a
solution to the problem. A solution that is very soon to be
released. Subscribers to my newsletter will get the latest, and
if you aren’t keeping up with this ground breaking new trend you
need to spend some time on the internet marketing message boards
to get the latest news.

I don’t have all the details yet, Jason is keeping a little hush
hush about it. But in a few weeks you’ll probably hear about his
new tool.

The conclusion, article writing has never been totally dead, but
the wave is coming back with a host of new tools and services to
make the process easier for webmasters to capitolize on. Get in
the groove, dust off the type writer and start benefitting from
free article writing traffic.

Luxury Apartment Versus Hotel

May 21st, 2008

After 9/11/2001 a lot was going through my mind. Was it safe to travel? Should I travel?

My sister was going to have her first child and we wanted to travel somewhere before she became a mother. I had visited Paris when I was 17, stayed with a family as part of an exchange agreement. I fell in love with Paris but did not get to experience enough of it so I wanted to go back (13 years later). My sister and I discussed taking our mother to Paris as a gift for sending us to Paris when we were younger.

As we began our search for affordable places to stay in Paris, we began to realize that there were many options. We discussed hotels, youth hostels, staying with friends, etc. As we planned our trip our group grew to 8 persons (my sister, sister’s husband, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, a family friend, our younger sister, my mother and finally myself). After looking at all of our options we decided to look at luxury vacation rentals. We definately aren’t wealthy but when you realize that a luxury apartment split 8 ways for one week is little over $150-200 per person for a week in Paris, we couldn’t get our minds off finding the perfect vacation rental. Well we found one we liked that was within our budget. it was a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment with a view of the Sacre-Coeur Church. The apartment was recently renovated and was beautiful. Not only was it available for the week we wanted but it had a last minute special which brought our cost down to $150 per person.

We were within walking distance to Monmartre, Abbesses, the Moulon Rouge. The Abbesses and Anvers metro stations were both within 10 minutes walk from our apartment so we were able to be anywhere in Paris within 25 minutes (Eiffel Tower, Champs-Elysees, Arc d’Triomphe, and the Louvre). It was the perfect base for our vacation.

Not only was renting an apartment less expensive then a hotel but the apartment also included all towels, soaps, laundry facilities, kitchen, espresso maker, dishwasher, stove, microwave; it also had all of the staples for cooking such as salt, sugar, spices. There was even cleaning supplies and laundry detergent.

After our week in Paris we decided that there was not better way to experience Paris, than living as a Parisian in a Parisian apartment!

Rebekah Owens is owner of one of the largest European Vacation Rental listing sites (http://www.vangoghrentals.com). The site has been running for approximately 1 1/2 years with over 600 rentals (mostly of which are in France). She offers free advice in forums on webdesign, marketing, and managing vacation rental properties.
