Arts and Entertainment Miles Away

June 28th, 2008

The Inland Empire is often discounted due to it’s location being so far from larger cities. Nonetheless, the Inland Empire has its own little niches to experience a bit of culture without too long of a commute. Across the board cities like Redlands, Pomona, and Riverside maintain strong Art communities. Several of the local artists exhibit their work in galleries peppered throughout the communities.

Market Night is a popular favorite among the Redlands crowd. You can find local artist produced painting, ceramics, and live bands playing regularly. In Pomona, the Pomona Arts Colony has been going strong with its concert venues, galleries, and eclectic shopping. Riverside is home to a historic art museum as well as several neighboring galleries that promote their monthly Art Walk.

As always when trying to keep local events alive in a community it’s important to keep the public aware of upcoming events and keep them tied in. Several of these events employ photographers to photograph visitors and later encourage them to look up their pictures online. This is a great way to encourage return visitors to take an active role in and be more likely to participate again down the road.

In turn it is also a productive approach to involve other business aside from the Photographers themselves. These organizations can employ promoters in the Inland Empire, work with design firms in the Inland Empire, and take full advantage of the ever eager party goers and local socialites willing to make themselves seen.
