Heart

June 20th, 2008

Besides regulating the blood flow and supply of the blood throughout the body, the heart is held responsible for both, great health and ailments. Our heart and health share an eternal relationship which is the reason why we blame our health for heart ailments and curse our heart for health problems.

People who don’t lead a healthy lifestyle often tend to face several ailments in the bargain. Especially people who are obese stand a higher chance of facing hypertension, sudden heart attacks and heart failures; all of which are heart-related ailments. A Luxury Featherbed Delivers The Ultimate Sleep Experience .

June 19th, 2008

Today’s luxury featherbeds are not your Grandma’s featherbed. In her day it literally was a bag of feathers. There are many featherbeds available, the majority are made of 95% duck feather 5% duck down (not considered luxury). Feathers are flat with a hard quill, down is the soft undercoating from the bird’s breast. Goose down is better than duck down, the down clusters are larger, and at least 50/50 down/feather is better than mostly feathers, which are hard and “crunchy”, and they tend to leak out of the best featherproof casing over time.

There are some truly luxury featherbeds available using white goose down and feather, with larger percentages of high fill-power goose down, and even all down. The fill-power is the measurement of the down cluster’s ability to loft up after compression. The higher lofting downs make puffier featherbeds. 650 fill-power or higher goose down for a featherbed is luxury quality. More down in your featherbed means a more luxurious look and an incomparable level of comfort. A down bed with all white goose down would be softer and the puffiest. More luxury to sink into.

The most common styles are baffle box, 3 compartment, or channel . It is better to have a baffle box to keep the filling from unwanted shifting, and at least a 3″ – 4″ baffle.

Always use a featherbed cover to protect your featherbed or down bed. Choose one that will accommodate the baffle construction to allow the filling (especially if it is a high percentage of down or all down) to loft up, and with zippers on 3 sides for easy removal. Fluff up, and turn over your featherbed weekly when you wash the cover. Send your featherbed to a down bedding specialist for cleaning every 3 or 4 years and for renovation after 7 – 10 years. Another good idea is to invest in some extra deep fitted sheets so that you get the full loft of your featherbed. A too tight fitted sheet will pull the featherbed down making it flatter. This would defeat the purpose of having a high down content luxury featherbed.

An investment in a quality featherbed or down bed is well worth it since it will deliver an unparalleled level of comfort for life with proper cleaning and renovation. Purchasing from a down specialist ensures a wide selection to choose from and knowledgeable staff. Choose a specialist that offers expert cleaning/renovation services so you will have your luxury featherbed for life.

Insightful Information About the Outstanding Windsor Castle

June 18th, 2008

Windsor Castle is one of the largest inhabited castles on the planet & the oldest in nonstop inhabitation (around nine hundred years). It is 1 of Queen Elizabeth’s three actual residences, & is tine & time again alleged to be her outright most treasured home. The Royal Standard flies above the Round Tower of Windsor Castle on every occasion Queen Elizabeth 2nd is at the palace – yet, at alternative times, the Union Jack banner soars in its place.

Samuel Pepys proclaimed the Castle to be “the solitary most romantic castle on the planet.” That was said in 1666, & the comparable can be said today.

Windsor Castle Absorbing History:

The foundation of Windsor lies in the early seventh century Saxon hamlet of Windlesora, where the present day parish of Old Windsor is sited. The town of Windsor is properly well-known as “New Windsor” – the actual word “new” being taken in a strictly loose way! Visit Windsor Castle, Queen Elizabeth’s magnificent residence.

Windsor Castle was at first built by the famous William the Conqueror, on account of his attack of England in 1066. The original building was put together from timber with mud ramparts. The Castle held a clear strategic location on a steep hill just above the River Thames, and was part of a band of castles in the region London, with the Tower of London, one day’s journey away, at its core.

The Castle was reassembled in stone, and grew in value over the forthcoming years. Henry the 2nd constructed the Round Tower & the original stone outer wall. Following the English Civil War, the building’s chief function became that of a royal palace. Windsor Castle has stayed essentially unchanged from the beginning of the 19th century, apart from the renovation work following the terrible fire.

Tips to Increasing your Vertical Jump

June 16th, 2008

By building upper body strength you will be able to increase vertical jump higher than before. But of course this means you really have to work at it and not just hope it will come one day. While practicing may help you need to do the right exercises to get the results you want.

Try some of the following:

- run up and down stairs on your tiptoes

- squats

- lose weight, but this is only for those that need to lose weight. If you are already fit, this probably won’t help. Tone up a bit if you think you need it by doing some sit ups or push pus.

- spints will help strengthen not only your calves but your leg muscles as well.

- jumps such as elevated, double jumping, jump rope, etc. Any form of jumping will help. Try to keep track of how high or far you jump by logging it in a book.

Many people believe that by doing it every day for so many hours they’ll get to increase vertical jump faster but this is not the case. You do need to rest for a day or two to let the muscles begin to form and rest at the same time. If you do not rest you can end up pulling something. Always remember to stretch before any work out.

Multivitamins: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

June 16th, 2008

Ideally, humans would eat wholly nutritious diets rich in protein, vitamins and minerals. The fact is, most people do not meet all their nutritional needs through their food. As a result, many of us rely on multivitamins and supplements to achieve more complete nutrition.

Question: Do you know what those vitamins and minerals are doing in your body? Do you know how much of the product your body actually absorbs when it comes to taking a multivitamin

No federal regulations

Vitamins, minerals and nutritional supplements produced and distributed in the U.S. are not regulated by the Food and Drug Administration. In fact, if you or I wanted to start selling our own personal brands of vitamins, mineral supplements or similar products, we could do so without anyone, including the FDA, having a say in the matter.

This lack of regulation should sound a warning signal about these products’ contents. Most supplements on the market are basically garbage. While they may contain good-for-you ingredients, they do nothing to bolster your nutrition because your body cannot absorb them.

Nutritional companies spend thousands of dollars marketing their products to convince consumers how great they are. For example, the best-known multivitamin brands found in drug and discount stores are virtually useless. Rather than trying to dazzle you with their exaggerated claims, supplement companies would be better off spending their dollars on research to determine that their products really are benefiting you. The quality of a supplement’s contents is far more important than any sexy claims its manufacturer can make. Your main concerns should be the quality and bioavailability (level of absorption and use by the body) of any product you purchase.

Supplements cannot repair the effects of bad eating

Hippocrates said it best, “Let food be thy medicine and let thy medicine be thy food.”

Eating naturally nutritious food is the most important aspect of your diet. The foundation you lay with proper eating habits is far more important than any food supplement you can take. Examine your eating and exercise habits before you consider seeing a doctor for almost any problem.

However, even the best vitamins and supplements available will not propel you to optimal health if you otherwise eat unhealthy food. Say your diet consists mainly of pre-packaged and/or fast foods, but you take your Centrum or One-a-Day, so you talk yourself into thinking you feel fine. Your body knows otherwise, and you may find yourself in big trouble in a few years. All this amounts to is killing yourself slowly.

Why take supplements at all?

Even the most healthful eater might want to consider supplements, due to the lack of nutrients in our soil. Soil in the U.S. slowly has been losing more and more nutrients each year, making our foods less tasty and less nourishing to our bodies.

The single most important health factor is nourishment. If we lack proper nourishment, we will slowly die of disease, obesity and malnutrition. Yes, extremely overweight people are largely malnourished! The way to achieve optimal health is to eat as few calories as possible, while still providing your body with the highest levels of nourishment.

This is where organic food plays a key role. Organic food has been shown to contain 40 percent more nutrients than regular commercially produced food. Add high quality supplements which provide your body with bioavailable vitamins and minerals, and it becomes easy to live a long, healthy life while consuming fewer calories and still obtaining the nutrients you need to function optimally.

What to look for in a supplement

Almost everyone should start off with a multivitamin supplement. Multivitamins work better than taking individual supplements because they provide the body with a combination of all the vitamins a minerals it needs in a single source. The body prefers this delivery method because it can better absorb and utilize them in combination than it can when you take each vitamin and mineral separately.

Other beneficial supplements include antioxidants found in trace minerals, and some specific vitamins and minerals not contained in most multivitamins. Antioxidants contain nutrients to help fight off the oxidative properties in free radicals that cause your body to break down. Taking an antioxidant supplement will keep your body strong and healthy, allowing less breakdown.

Still other important supplements are cod liver oil, fish oil, flax seed oil, and whey or egg protein (sometimes used as a form of meal replacement).

Each individual requires different nutrients and a generic multivitamin certainly can help address these deficiencies. Remember, though, any supplement is still a synthetic and not real food. Experiment until you find a high-quality product that works for you. There are dozens of good products out there, but none is “the best.” Because we’re all unique, no single product can be all things to all people. Specialty vitamin companies do develop personalized products. By performing blood, hair, and saliva work, they determine the necessary ingredients to create the best multivitamin for an individual. As you can imagine, that level of individualized production comes with a hefty price tag.

High-quality general-use supplements are out there. They can be found at the health food store and almost certainly will cost more than the famous name brands. But if you don’t invest in your health first, every other investment in your life will be wasted. Isn’t optimal health worth the cost and effort it takes to purchase quality products?

It might sound cliché, but it’s true: You take care of your body, and your body will take care of you.

Best Price Treadmill – 3 Key Tips To Saving Hundreds On Your Next Treadmill

June 15th, 2008

If you’re in the market to buy a treadmill, your timing couldn’t be better. Treadmills are giving you more value for your money every year. In fact according to a recent Runner’s World article:

“Today’s treadmills are better than ever. In particular, most brands have improved their stability and controls. Meanwhile, they continue to offer a dazzling variety of features.”

If you’re buying a treadmill no doubt you want to get the best price. Having been researching and reviewing treadmills for over 3 years, I’ve seen some killer treadmill deals and some completely overblown, overpriced treadmills.

I’ve also seen the same treadmill offered at vastly different prices – sometimes the difference is as much as $800! And people are still buying the overpriced treadmills!

There are ways to getting the best price on a high quality home treadmill that many people don’t know about. So to help you save some money, here are 3 key tips to getting the best price on your treadmill:

#1 Buy Online

If you want to save money, buy online. This is the case with most items from computers to DVD’s to electronics and especially treadmills. Because when you buy online, the treadmill dealer doesn’t have to pay to rent a storefront, pay salespeople, pay hydro, heat, etc.

They can ship directly from their warehouse. This saves them a lot of money and in turn these savings are passed on to you in the form of lower prices.

Obviously you don’t want to just buy from anyone online. Make sure the online treadmill dealer offers secure ordering, prevalent contact information (phone numbers, email, online help, address), at least a 30 day money back guarantee and of course – high quality treadmills. It also helps if they offer customer and/or expert testimonials.

#2 Buy Direct From the Treadmill Brand Manufacturer

Buying direct from the treadmill manufacturer means you skip the middleman (i.e. the store), which always has to mark up an item to make their profit (and pay their employees, rent, etc.) There are several treadmill manufacturers that sell online direct to the consumer at wholesale prices and it’s a great way to get a brand name treadmill for a discount price.

Also, if you watch closely, many manufacturers will drop their prices even more when they are phasing out a certain treadmill. I’ve seen a $1500 treadmill go for $899 when the manufacturer was trying to close the model out.

Again, make sure these treadmill dealers offer secure ordering, prevalent contact information, at least a 30 day money back guarantee and high quality treadmills.

#3 Save on Shipping and Sales Tax

Whether it’s an online store or an online treadmill manufacturer, many online dealers offer you free shipping. Some offer free shipping all the time whereas others offer it at certain times of the month.

Shipping your treadmill can cost you as much as $200 – so why pay for it if you can get it free? I’ve yet to see an actual store offer free shipping on treadmills – it’s always an add on at the cash register.

Another area where you can save money is on sales tax. Many online dealers won’t charge you sales tax (depending on the state) which can also save you a considerable amount on your treadmill.

So those are 3 key ways to get the best price on your treadmill. If you want a list of the most popular online stores and treadmill manufacturers check out:

That’s it – follow these 3 tips and you’ll easily save hundreds on your next treadmill.

Bridal Corset

June 15th, 2008

Gone are the days when most brides were happy to walk down the aisle in a crisp white gown. These days they not only want their dress to be elegant but also sensual. Many are turning to a custom made wedding corset in exotic fabrics like velvet, satin and silk, that accentuates and flatters their curves giving them an ideal hourglass figure. Many bridal corsets are custom made and have to be ordered a few months before the wedding. But you can pick one from a wide variety of bridal corsets that are available online or in any lingerie shop.

The bride is not the only one who is wearing a corset in today’s wedding. There are Victorian-theme weddings where the entire bridal party wears corsets. The look is stunning on bridesmaids and mothers of the bride and groom. For the modest, a shapely corset may be worn under a jacket. It will add a beautiful shape without showing how!

Some popular bridal corsets are the over busts that suit all kinds of figures. They support the bust and elevate it. You may choose one that has under wired cups. For those who wish to display a flattering slim waistline (corsets can reduce the waist size by 2-7 inches). The under bust flattens the tummy and compliment the feminine form. The corset can usually be detached from the wedding skirt used for other special occasions. There’s nothing like a beautiful and sensuous corset to make you feel ’special’ on all special occasions.

Corset provides detailed information on corset, leather corset, corset lingerie, corset dress and more. Corset is affiliated with Discount Lingerie.

Trade Show Handouts that Stick Around After the Show

June 13th, 2008

When planning your trade show marketing program, one of the important things to consider is the series of handouts you will make available to your booth visitors. Full color printed materials are by far your best bet when it comes to trade show handouts. But how do you maximize the impact of such a traditional item?

You’ve spent significant money on staff training, beautiful graphics, and a professionally designed display. The traffic is pouring through your booth. But will they still remember you tomorrow?

Let’s face it, you only have two chances to make your message stick with your booth visitors: your follow-up strategy, and your handouts. Will your handouts make it past the waste basket? Are they an integral part of your follow-up strategy?

Let’s be clear here. We’re not talking about handing out sexy things like cds, yoyos, ball caps, t-shirts, or beer mugs. Those things have their place, but this is not it. Right now we’re talking about getting a piece of product literature into the hands of your prospects and hoping it doesn’t get chucked into the garbage can just outside the exhibition hall.

** Why product literature?

Product literature is always the “go to” handout because printed pieces of paper or card stock are cheap. And done correctly they can be more effective, have more staying power, and certainly communicate more about your actual product than things like hats or pens.

So what makes a memorable piece of product literature — one that a prospective customer will keep? Here are a few suggestions.

** Don’t be cheap when it comes to graphic design

A cheap one colour flier may save you money in the short run, but it is much more likely to be pitched into the waste basket. On the other hand, you probably don’t need an expensive multi-page brochure. The first one is “underkill”, and the second is “overkill”. Do an attractive, simple advertising piece that has catchy graphics and a clear statement of “the pitch”.

** Use full colour and use striking photographs

Create a striking headline and don’t just do a description of the product. Create a “benefit-rich” statement that focuses on some significant customer-oriented benefit of your product.

For example, you can create a headline that says “Powerful Front End Loaders from Mega Loaders”, or you can say, “Get the Job Done in Record Time for Half the Price.” Which one would you look at?

** Content matters – make a substantial offer

By content we mean the pitch…the offer. Create an offer they cannot discard or ignore. Give something substantial away if they fill in an inquiry form. Or tie your offer in with your website. Create a valuable special offer they can only access online. Put it in the form of a “valuable coupon”, something like this:

“Get $40 off your next purchase when your register on line.”

This encourages your prospects to keep the handout, and also encourages them to respond by going to your website and having another close look at your special offer. What could be better? An automatic followup strategy.

** Give them something they will keep

Often a business card is the best. Everybody keeps business cards. Often we keep them long after the person has left the company or the company has ceased to exist. Most of us have a little (or big) pile of business cards. And some of us have a drawer full of them. A few of us even have them carefully sorted in a Rolodex.

Make your business card stand out from the crowd. Spend a little extra and do it in full color. Put a photo of your product on it, or use a striking photo that illustrates the benefits of your product. This says “credibility” — “this company is for real”.

In other words, business cards — especially full color cards — are good. You might even consider a “double whammy” full color perforated post card / business card combination. The 3.5″ x 6″ (or whatever) postcard contains a coupon type offer, and the attached (perforated) business card can be neatly torn off and kept in your pile, drawer, or Rolodex.

Remember to make your printed handouts memorable, creative, and substantial and enough people will keep them to pay you back many times over for the bit of extra cost involved.

Actions During and After the Overseas Trade Show

June 13th, 2008

Arrive early and stay late:

The best arrival time is partially determined by the schedule of press conferences, exhibitor briefings, interviews with prospective representatives, etc. At the very minimum, allow sufficient time to make certain yout stand is in order and your equipment is working.

Keep your exhibit staffed:

Empty booths sell nothing! Give visitors your full attention as they may well be your future customers. Keep your exhibit tidy. Give serious thought to security, both during the day and before leaving at night.

Take a look at other exhibitors

Whether competitors or suppliers of similar products, there is a lot you can learn from other exhibitors. Better display ideas, new product features and possible tie in arrangements are just a few benefits.

Select good overseas representatives:

If possible, it’s a good idea to line up a representative before the trade show. The representative can become familiar with your products and your organisation during the exhibition and, of course, will have an opportunity to meet and establish contact with prospective customers who visit your booth.

Quote price, delivery time and your terms:

Many buyers prefer pricing to be on a ‘delivered to them’ basis including all duties, taxes and other charges. The delivery time in your quotation is tied to the terms of sale. The terms and methods used in shipping your products should be discussed with your freight forwarder. Other sales terms as warranty, repairs, replacements and packing may have to be modified to a foreign market.

Make use of business cards:

You may receive many business cards during exhibitions. remember to have an adequate supply of your own cards for distribution. You might also devise a registration card for your booth. Make sure it’s in their language.

Use service representatives at the show:

Often, companies that provide service to exporters and importers, such as air and ocean carriers, banks and freight forwarders, exhibit at or attend trade shows. Talk to them about your marketing needs.

Follow-up:

More sales are recorded in the months following an exhibition thatn at the exhibition itself. The companies that get the best value for their exhibit dollar are those whose salespeople and representatives follow up on the best sales prospects as soon as possible.

Service your foreign customer:

The quickest way to lose business is to fail to provide service. Once you make a sale, be prepared to provide complete service and fast delivery of spare parts. If you have a local representative, this person should agree to maintain a minimum parts stock and develop a service capacity.
