Nature Healing Method for Anaemia

August 28th, 2008

Anaemia is much more easily prevented than corrected. A liberal intake of iron in the formative years can go a long way in preventing iron-deficiency anaemia.

Diet is of the utmost importance in the treatment of anaemia. Almost every nutrient is needed for
the production of red blood cells, haemoglobin and the enzymes, required for their synthesis.

Refined food like white bread, polished rice, sugar, and desserts rope the body of the much
-needed iron. Iron should always be taken in its natural organic form as the use of inorganic can
prove hazardous, destroying the protective vitamins and unsaturated fatty acids, causing serious
liver damage and even miscarriage and delayed or premature births. The common foods rich in
natural organic iron are wheat and wheat grain cereals, brown rice and rice polishings, green
leafy vegetables, cabbage, carrot, celery, beets, tomatoes, spinach ; fruits like apples,
berries, cherries, grapes, raisins, figs, dates, peaches and eggs. It has been proved that a
generous intake of iron alone will not help in the regeneration of haemoglobin. The supplies of
protein, too, should be adequate. The diet should, therefore, be adequate in proteins of high
biological value such as those found in milk, cheese and egg. Copper is also essential for the
utilisation of iron in the building of haemoglobin.

Vitamin B12 is a must for preventing or curing anaemia. This vitamin is usually found in animal
protein and especially in organic meats like kidney and liver. A heavy meat diet is often
associated with a high haemoglobin and high red cell count, but it has its disadvantages. One
cause of anaemia is intestinal putrefaction, which is primarily brought on by a high meat diet.
Moreover, all meats are becoming increasingly dangerous due to widespread diseases in the
animal kingdom. There are, however, other equally good alternative sources of vitamin B12 such
as dairy products, like milk, eggs and cheese, peanuts. Wheat germ and soyabeans also
contain some B12. Vegetarians should include sizeable amounts of milk, milk products and eggs
in their diet.

For prevention of anaemia, it is essential to take the entire B-complex range which includes B12,
as well as the natural foods mentioned above. Eating lacto-avo products, which are complete
proteins, and which also contain vitamin B12 is good insurance against the disease. Brewer’s
yeast is a good source of complete protein.

A liberal intake of ascorbic acid is necessary to facilitate absorption of iron. At least two helpings
of citrus fruits and other ascorbic acid rich foods should be taken daily.
Mention must be made of beets which are extremely important in curing anaemia. Beet juice
contains potassium, phosphorous, calcium, sulphur, iodine, iron, copper, carbohydrates, protein,
fat, vitamins, B1, B2, niacin B6, C and vitamin P. With its high iron content, beet juice
regenerates and reactivates the red blood cells, supplies the body with fresh oxygen and helps
the normal function of vesicular breathing.

Water Treatment

A cold water bath is among the most valuable curative measures in anaemia. The patient should
be given carefully graduated cold baths twice daily. Cold friction, hot epsom salt bath for five to
10 minutes once a week and an occassional cabinet steam bath are also recommended. Full
sun baths are especially beneficial as sunlight stimulates the production of red cells.

There are other important factors which are helpful in curing anaemia. Deep breathing and light
exercise like walking and simple yoga asanas should be undertaken to tone up the system.

Sarvangasana paschomittanasana, uttanpadasana and shavasana are recommended. Massage
also helps to keep the blood level high.

Trade Exit – How To Cut Losses And Let Profits Run

August 21st, 2008

Cut your losses short and let your profits run. This is the essence of your trade exit rules.

Cutting losses short

A protective stop protects your trading capital, it is your initial trade risk. Before a trade is even entered your should know where your protective stop will be – this is your maximum loss (barring any slippage on the exit). There are many different ways to determine a protective stop on a trade:

Set dollar amount – Say $500 on every trade

Percentage retracement – Say 10% from the entry price

Volatility – A percentage of the average true range of the previous x bars

Moving Averages – the opposite of the moving average entry

Channel breakouts – the opposite of the channel breakout entry

Based on areas of support and resistance stops

Time – If a position is not in profit after a certain length of time then it is exited.

Letting profits run

An effective exit technique is also required to allow a successful trade to make the most profit possible and give back the least amount of it.

Usually a trailing stop is employed to achieve this objective. A trailing stop moves to lock in profits as the trade moves in the traders favour, it should never be moved backwards. There are many different ways to calculate a trailing stop:

Volatility – the stop is calculated as a percentage of the average true range of x periods.

Dollar – A set amount determined before the trade is entered.

channel breakout – exit a long position at the low of the last x bars.

moving average

chart patterns – ie move the trailing stop behind each consolidation as it forms.

Other forms of exit are:

Time Stops – A trade is exited after a certain length of time no mater what. A day trader, for example, will always exit at the market close.

Targets – A limit order is placed to exit a position at a pre-defined profit objective. However this tends to break the rule of letting profits run and usually reduces the profitability of a system by cutting short the best trades.

Chinese Herbs – Cordyceps for Stamina and Vitality

August 21st, 2008

Our living environment has become increasingly more polluted, our diets unhealthy with processed foods that are full of preservative, harmful fats, refined carbohydrates, and sugars which fill our stomach but do not nourish our body optimally. On top of that we are leading very busy, hectic, and stressful lifestyles. Even though we boast to have the best and modern time-saving electrical gadgets and appliances most people are left with no time or no stamina for exercise which everyone knows is vital for health.

All these have put a great deal of strain on our immune system which has to constantly function on a hyper mode, trying hard to neutralize the environmental pollutants we are exposed to and ingested toxins from foods and drugs, trying to help your body maintain a state of homeostasis or balance for optimum health. When this physiological balance is not restored, the common physical symptoms that will manifest are:

  • allergies
  • cancer
  • cardiovascular disease
  • obesity
  • chronic fatigue syndrome
  • depression
  • aging prematurely

The immune system is a complex network of specialized cells and organs such as the spleen, thymus and bone marrow that defense any foreign viruses or bacterial when they invade your body. We get sickly easily because of an impaired immune system. T-cells is a product of the thymus gland which protects you against harmful bacteria, viruses, and parasites, but it shrinks as we age, reducing the production of T-cells. This is why it’s so important to boost your immune system as you get older to avoid sickness. Many are searching for natural healthy diets, nutrition supplementation and exercise to nourish and strengthen their immune system to work more efficiently.

The discovery of medicinal mushrooms such as cordyceps and ganoderma lucidum (reishi) or Lingzhi has been documented in many reputable studies on its ability to restore our bodies’ balance and natural resistance to disease.

What is Cordyceps?

Cordyceps or Cordyceps Sinensis is a rare parasitic organism grows primarily on the Tibetan plateau at high altitudes of 14,000 feet. In Chinese, its name means ‘winter worm, summer grass’ or “caterpillar fungus.” It is nature’s cross marriage of the insect and plant kingdom. When it was first discovered about 2000 years ago the Chinese thought the herb was a worm. The fungus mushroom is a product from a type of fungus which parasites upon the larvae of the Chongcao bat moth and forms a fungus/larva composite body, and it takes five to seven years to complete its life cycle.

As part of the Chinese culinary delicacy, the cordyceps mushroom was used in soups and brews with pork and poultry. Due to its scarcity and high price, its use was reserved exclusively for the Emperor’s Palace in China. Cordyceps has been recognized for centuries and has long been used in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). For generations, it has been considered the premier agent in the Chinese culture for:

  • restoring energy
  • longevity and quality of health
  • treating lung problems
  • strengthening kidney functions

In 1993, three women Chinese athletes set new world records in the National Games in China. Their coach attributed their success to intensive training and supplementation with the cordyceps mushroom. Today many scientific studies have proven the numerous health benefits from this fungus.

Recently, a small study presented at the American College of Sports Medicine annual meeting (1999), showed that a cordyceps-based supplement (CordyMax, Pharmanex) significantly increases maximal oxygen uptake and anaerobic threshold, which may lead to improved exercise capacity and resistance to fatigue.

Health Benefits of Cordyceps:

  • enhances endurance, stamina and exercise performance
  • reduces fatigue
  • relieves asthma
  • fights sexual dysfunction
  • improves libido in man and woman
  • promotes healthy lung function
  • improves kidney and liver functions through metabolizing and excreting toxic substances
  • promotes healthy cholesterol levels
  • improves respiratory functions
  • promotes natural vitality

Everyone from young to old can enjoy the benefits from cordyceps mushroom which is sold in forms of its natural dry fruiting body, powdered form, tinctures, dietary supplement or in tonic soups.

The Truth About Perserverance and Goals

August 19th, 2008

If you really want to be successful, you probably spend a lot of time reading motivational books and articles. You want to know what qualities are required for success.

When we read about the tools required to achieve success, very often we are told that if we really want to be successful, we must have persistence.

Persistence is the quality of never giving up when we encounter challenges. Of holding on to our dream. Of refusing to be discouraged no matter what the odds, no matter what happens.

And when you read the life stories of very successful people, they will often tell you about all the hardships they encountered along the way. They will tell you about the discouragement they occasionally felt when they encountered failure, and about all the people who laughed at them along the way.

And then they will often tell you that the reason they are successful today is because they were persistent. They perservered in chasing their dream, no matter what happened.

So if you have been facing a bit of discouragement while you pursue your dream, reading these success gurus can give you the boost you need to keep on doing what you’ve been doing. After all, persistence is the key to success.

Almost everyone says so.

And all those people who encourage you to be persistent are wrong!

Persistence can lead to certain failure if you do not apply persistence in the right way.

Let me explain what these people are leaving out when they tell you to be persistent.

Every day as I drive to work in the city where I live, I always see a middle-aged blonde woman who paces back and forth on the sidewalk in front of a big government building. She is always carrying a big protest sign. She smiles and waves at all the cars that pass.

I’m not sure exactly what her sign says because the words don’t really make any sense.

There seems to be something about an injustice that happened to her when her husband’s pension was divided up during their divorce. And there’s a few comments about a government conspiracy to cover up the injustice that was done to her. I guess what she’s trying to accomplish with her protest is she’s trying to get this divorce decision changed.

Every day, no matter what the weather, this woman comes out to walk back and forth for two hours in front of this government building and wave at all the people. Her smile never fails.

After the first two hours of protesting are up, she goes to another place downtown. She spends another two hours walking back and forth, smiling and waving, in front of a different building a few blocks away.

She has been doing this every day for at least seventeen years.

She is certainly persistent.

All that persistence and dedication for so many years does not seem to be having any effect, but she does not seem to notice.

If seventeen years of her walking back and forth carrying this sign hasn’t had any effect, I don’t think that one more day of walking with this sign is going to change the outcome of her divorce. But she is persistent in continuing her protest.

Probably every big city has a few people like this woman, people you can see standing on the sidewalk. People who spends years holding some sign that doesn’t make sense.

These people can teach us all about the real value of perserverence and persistence.

These people are certainly very persistent, but usually they are not successful.

When success gurus tell us that persistence is an important quality on the road to success, they are often leaving out something important.

When successful people tell you that they got to where they are today because they were persistent, they are actually leaving out part of the story. A very important part of the story.

And the part that they are leaving out is this: They forget to tell you that before they were persistent, they had a goal, and they had a plan on how to get there.

And all along the way, after every step they took, they stepped back to evaluate the results to see if the results they were getting were the results they wanted. And if they weren’t getting the results they wanted, then they would change the steps they took, and try something different, until they found a method that worked for them.

These successful people did have persistence, but they were only persistent about holding on to their vision.

They were never persistent about the method they took to get to their goal.

All along the way, they were prepared to be very flexible and experiment to see what techniques and strategies worked best to get where they wanted to go.

Why do so many successful people leave out this important detail when they tell us the secrets to their success? Why do they so often neglect to mention that if a strategy wasn’t working, they abandoned it quickly and moved on to another strategy?

I don’t think that successful people deliberately leave out this key information because they don’t want us to be successful.

I think that successful people often leave out this key detail because they assume it’s very obvious to everyone already. They assume that everyone already knows that you test each step of what you are doing to see whether it’s working or not. And if it’s not working, you change it. And you keep trying new approaches til you get something that works, something that gets you closer to the result you want.

People who admire persistence often use the example of Thomas Edison who kept trying to produce an electrical light bulb even after ten thousand failed attempts.

But people often forget that while Thomas Edison was persistent in believing in his goal, he was not persistent in the way he tried to achieve it. Thomas Edison did not repeat the same experiment over and over again ten thousand times.

Thomas Edison performed about ten thousand different experiments on his way to trying to find a practical electrical light bulb.

Every time he tried an experiment to produce an electric light bulb, he then stepped back and took some time to evaluate the results. He figured out what was working and what wasn’t working. Then he would try something different the next time. And he would keep track of the results.

So, remember this crucial difference the next time someone tries to tell you that persistence is the key to success.

Without taking some time to evaluate whether or not what you do is actually working, you can be persistent for years, and not achieve the goals you want.

So, if you want to be successful, be sure to hold on to your dream, but remember to check frequently whether the actions you are taking are getting you closer to your goals.

Time to Stop Yourself Doing Everything in Your Business

August 17th, 2008

You’ve been there and done it. You’ve got the tee-shirt and your experiences mean that you can cut so many corners. So you do. It’s easier. You respond to all the requests, questions, challenges and mistakes of your people. By fixing them.

And after a while two things happen.

Firstly – You get exhausted, because everything revolves around you – every piddling decision, people wait for you.

Secondly – Remarkably, your people start to leave – or give poor service – or get grumpy. Or all these, and more! How ungrateful, you’ve done everything for them…

You see, fixing things, when they aren’t working right, is a very natural instinct to use in business, when we’re the boss.

This could be a team leader, a manager, a small business owner, or even a senior leader in a bigger organization. Too ‘hands-on’ happens all over the place.

It’s human nature to help people who ask us for help. It makes us feel good on a number of levels. We feel needed. We like to have a purpose for being. We like to go home each night feeling we have succeeded. And feeling fulfilled.

The easy way is to fix things.

But fixing things, especially as our businesses get bigger, means we are stretched really thinly. There is just one small layer that creates solutions and then, not only the best ones, because there is an opinion of only one.

So it gets harder, without getting much better.

The longer it goes on, the more others depend on us and even if we do listen, they know in the end, we will have the only answer that counts.

They do less, depend on us more. They get fed up with a lack of involvement (fulfilment of their own), we get exhausted by doing everything.

What to do about this? Well, it’s time to stop yourself doing things.

Take these circumstances into account and deal with them:-

1. Physically stop yourself providing answers to problems. It gets boring with the old ‘answer a question with a question’, but you can delve a little deeper. So…

2. When faced with one of your people bringing a problem to be solved, try the following:-

a. Ask for more information b. Follow-up the information with more requests for information following what you’ve heard c. Ask for ideas d. Ask for thoughts that they might have discarded e. Ask about what they’ve already tried f. Find out what’s getting in the way of them finding a solution g. Check-out what worked for them in the past and can it apply here?

3. Respond to ideas they might have with encouragement – if you really feel they’re barking up a wrong tree, just ask if it’s going to work and how – but nicely!

4. Notice when people are uncertain about their own solutions and offer them a touching-base point for further discussion

5. Be prepared to prevaricate. This is a really good tactic. By asking for some time (try overnight) to ‘think about things’, you will be surprised to find out how often solutions turn up for them

6. Give away input. Create permission at certain levels for people to make decisions which you need not know about. Tell people what level a decision/solution is on and get on with it! Like this:-

- I decide on solutions – You suggest solutions to me – You tell me your solution and act – You find a solution and act without telling me

7. Provide an environment of ‘no wrongs’. People need to feel that it’s OK to make some mistakes, before they can risk getting it wrong a little. There’s a famous story of a Ford executive who made a big ($40M) mistake. When he came up for promotion and some criticised his candidacy, his boss said, ‘What, and miss out on the guy who’s had the most expensive training experience!’

8. Use better people than you for making decisions at your weak point. If you aren’t a detail person, get help from someone who is, when it comes to making critical detail decisions

9. Recognise successes in your people’s decision making and solution finding – stretch them to make more and bigger ones. Develop them on your succession plan – they are the people you need – by taking the weight off you. Shift their decision-making level as described in 6 above

10. Finally. Chill! Focus on where you can take your own role and stop worrying about how many pencils one of your team is ordering. With good decision-making parameters and your trust, you won’t be getting the truck load you fear

Your people will thrill to being given some responsibility; they will truly thrive and expand their capabilities.

You will relax a little, safe in the knowledge that not everything is down to you. You are building good people, as well as a great business.

The Market for Gaming Laptops Has Become a Crowded One

August 17th, 2008

In my opinion gaming notebooks have lost their once held niche title. I can recollect when they were not so popular. Sure they were hardly manufactured in large quantities but companies did produce a lot of revenue on them. Everybody wanted this kind of portable, but it was too high priced. They were pretty much desktop rivals and the fastest, best laptop computer you could purchase. Even though that was true I believe the prices were so expensive that we would buy laptop computers that were not as great instead. Things seem set to change though because now the gaming notebooks sector has attracted the attention of bigger manufacturers.

If mass manufactured, brands can create big profits on gaming notebooks. This can be a good opportunity to make respectable margins for them. With their gigantic marketing resources I am certain they can sway anybody to buy laptops like these. In my point of view this could possibly hurt local system builders if they do not separate themselves. This formerly premium technology is basically going to be directed at everyone now. Also the big brand name will give consumers increased confidence. Surprisingly, the laptops they are creating are some of the best laptops to date. This holds the potential to be extremely promising for little companies. In my point of view being able to select the parts you want could be a decision maker. Consumers of this kind are generally very in the know with regards to the technology at hand, and hence are able to do like for like evaluations. In a few situations the performance is way more important than the design for particular types of consumers.

For the prospect, this has lots of positives. A technique that the littler retailers may apply is to trim markup in to shift more units. Who can possibly predict what will occur. I am really not that certain. I am not certain if the overall price of notebook computers will drop but the latest laptops are normally at specific price points. It’s difficult to know what will happen now that the established brands have gotten involved in manufacturing laptops for gaming.

In my view this site http://www.rizeon.com/gaming_laptops/page.php are offering laptops for gaming at good prices.
