Olympic Media Centre will be Ready by 2011, Says Olympic Development Authority
According to Sebastian Coe, Chair of the London 2012 Organising Committee, development of the Olympic Media centre was underway and will be completed by the scheduled date in 2011. Recently, pictures of the Olympic Media centre being developed were published for viewing, which showed the International Broadcast centre and press media centre being developed on the banks of the River Lea.
The photographs were taken to show the exact stage of development of the centre. Additionally, there were video shots taken of the entire process during day as well as night by using webcams and the same were published on the London 2012 website.
According to the Olympic Development Authority, this centre will house nearly 20,000 media personnel from different parts of the world, who will arrive in London for the Olympic Games. The committee members of London 2012 felt that given the importance as well as the magnitude of the event, it is imperative that the media personnel be given proper facilities to help broadcast the games as well as the fervour to the billions of viewers across the world. The latest pictures of the Hackney Wick Centre show that the organisers have achieved what they set out to, in terms of creating a media fit environment for the Olympic Games.
It is pertinent to note that there were many disputes regarding this development, which has been put to rest by the recent pictures. According to Jules Pipe, the Mayor of Hackney, this construction will help bring in more business development, employment opportunity as well as investment to the region.
