On Why Freemasonry Is All about Improving Yourself
Many misunderstandings besiege the Free Mason society – oftentimes negative insinuations of an old boy network, or yet greater wicked insinuations. Yet, nothing could be further from the truth. As a brotherhood, Freemasonry proffers a chance for men to meet and partake in friendly fellowship. Improving oneself is a central facet of freemasonry. Freemasonry advances assisting others also, and giving to others is a real way in which Masons assist those.
A vital aspect of the Free Mason society’s duties is not to actively seek out new individuals to become members. Still, any person should feel uninhibited to chat with any current member to acquire more information about the Craft.
To become a member, you must be male, over 18 years old, and you must meet the standards of reputation and character, must be of good moral character, and believe in the existence of a supreme being.
A male who wants to become a member must be commended by 3 members of the lodge he wants to become a member in. He has to realise that his reputation and character must be looked into. Following recommendation by the Masons of that lodge, he will then be acknowledged as a candidate for membership in Freemasonry.
Masons often assume items like Union Jack badges which subtly identify their member status to fellow members while communicating the lodge they are a member of.
