Today LED lighting standards are being enhanced by manufacturers in order to produce better products.

In efforts to boost an otherwise sluggish product line LED manufacturers are performing a production change to increase the SMD encapsulation in the hopes to produce a better line. Despite slow rates due to maturity and price China the industry’s top diode manufacturer remains optomistic.

To be able to attract more orders, product suppliers underscore their own products that meet requirements in commercial and residential enviorments, where demand is shown to be the strongest. This is why they are accelerating the release of top variants. Besides matching miniaturization trends in the electronics industry, the type boasts enhanced attenuation, luminance and beam angle.

LED products have been given an added boost as makers improved brightness levels. They have adopted mainly 5 or 6 lumens diodes and increase them from four and below to five or six pieces per module.

Most if not all manufacturers emphasize form factors. Then there are companies like Blueview Electronics-optic Tech Co. Ltd has a unit measuring 60×10x3mm. Targeted at signage applications, the BV-Al-SMD-1X4-W model integrates four 4W 3528 top LEDs that can produce 17 lumens luminous flux at 40mA driving current. ETN Technology Ltd and Illusion LED Ltd highlight trendy casing designs. An example from the former is the ET-LM113CRN1-J2 model, which adopts high-power diodes.

LED Modules currently make up only 10 to 20 percent of China’s total LED output. The line has a few dedicated manufacturers. That leaves the majority of the 300 to 400 enterprises concentrate on other higher-profit diode types. Some are considering exiting the sector, discouraged by fierce rivalry. Their selections now consist of LED spotlights, strips, and underground and table lamps.

Even today China exports about half of output, mainly to the EU and North America. Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia and the Middle East receive a small share.
